  • THE SEED

    At SQFT Gardens, our mission is to grow the finest organic produce using traditional farming methods powered by our team of draft horses. By working in harmony with the land, we aim to bring the rich soil of the San Luis Valley to life—cultivating food that nourishes both people and the earth.

  • THE SPROUT

    Amyas Maestas is an eighth-generation land steward with deep roots in the San Luis Valley’s agricultural community. He earned an Associate Degree in Sustainable Agriculture and Local Food Systems from Sterling College, then went on to complete an apprenticeship at Kilt Farm in Boulder, where he refined his expertise in regenerative farming practices.

    With a passion for soil health and community resilience, Amyas Maestas is dedicated to building a sustainable farm business that produces nutrient-dense food for wholesale markets, CSA farm shares, and fresh markets—nourishing both people and the land for generations to come.

    SQFT Garden, founded in 2024, is the realization of that vision—a dream brought to life that now provides our community with healthy, organically grown produce and a commitment to regenerative agriculture.

At SQFT Gardens, our goal is to sustainably and ecologically produce food for the people of Southern Colorado and beyond. We are committed to offering food at a fair price, expanding access, and advancing food sovereignty in our region.

We look forward to connecting with both our CSA box share members and our vendor partners—building long-term relationships rooted in trust, nourishment, and community.
